Mosquito Meander 2008
The route has changed this year because of construction on Wilbur Street.
- This course is 5 kilometers (3.1 miles in length). There are signs at miles 1, 2 and 3, and there is a water and First Aid station at the halfway point.
- The course will end inside Pioneer Park in Gold Rush town.
- You'll start at Pioneer Park's east gate and turn left on Moore Street. The actual start may be on Moore Street depending on the measurement.
- Along Moore there is a Parking Lot that you will follow on to 2nd Avenue.
- The race will continue along 2nd Avenue to Wien Street
- Continue on Wien Street which turns into Tenth.
- Turn left on to Kellum.
- Proceed on Kellum to 8th Avenue. You will turn left on 8th and follow it until it veers right onto Lincoln Street.
- Follow Lincoln to Third Avenue. At this point, you will turn left on Third Avenue, then a block later, take a right on Grant Street and cross over 1st Avenue onto the bike path.
- Follow the bike path west, going behind the Carlson Center.
- When you emerge from behind the Carlson Center, you will run along 2nd Avenue. When 2nd Avenue hits the Pioneer Park boundary, veer right into the back gate of Pioneer Park.
- Turn left at the first street on the right and follow to the finish line.
- There will be volunteers at almost every intersection to help with traffic and point out turns. Please watch for cars, as traffic can be unpredictable and drivers may not see you.
