CLINICIAN - Family Treatment Program
Position Description:
Contract Part-time CLINICIAN, LCSW, LPC or LMFT, in the Family Treatment Program
Schedule would include evenings and weekends.
JOB SUMMARY:
The primary duties of a Part-time Clinician in the Family Treatment Program are to provide individual, family, and group therapy services with emphasis on abuse/neglect issues.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be licensed in Alaska, or must have taken and passed the National Board Exam, and have the ability to be licensed in Alaska prior to hire.
- If licensed in another state, must have the ability to be licensed in Alaska prior to hire.
- Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or recognized equivalent in the human and/or behavioral sciences.
- Two years post license experience preferred in counseling a variety of client populations with diverse client problems.
- Demonstrated knowledge of a variety of therapeutic methods and models, including issues of physical, sexual and emotional abuse and neglect.
- Experience in working with and/or demonstrated knowledge of family and group dynamics.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas and concepts clearly to professional and non-professional audiences.
- Ability to work individually and as a team member.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide therapeutic services to individuals, families, and groups.
- Develop and follow appropriate treatment plans.
- Maintain case records and statistical data.
- Participate in intake meetings and make appropriate referrals to other FCA departments and community resources.
- Interact with other community treatment providers and agencies to coordinate services for FCA clients.
- Participate with other Family Treatment staff in assessing current programs and community needs. Participate in brainstorming, creating, designing, and instituting new programs.
- Participate in community networking, agency training, and agency development.
- Complete all paperwork/reports on a timely basis.
- Other duties as assigned.
