Diaper Derby 2003 Photos
DATE: TBA TIME: TBA
WHERE: 2nd Avenue Stage Downtown Fairbanks at the Midnight Sun Festival (Check event calander)
WHAT: The Diaper Derby is a short race for Crawlers or Toddlers done on mats. You never can tell
what your child may do during the excitement of the race. It's a lot of fun for everyone!
HOW: do I enter my child in the race? There will be a registration table set up
an hour or two before the race. Just stop by and fill out a short entry form for your child. There is no
fee to enter your child in the race.
AGE GROUPS: Crawlers, Waddlers (to 17 months) and Toddlers (18 to 24 months)
PRIZES: All children entered in the races will recieve a complimentary gift. (Last year it was a book.)
All children are eligible for the grand prize drawing of a $100 savings bond just for participating - thanks to Mt. McKinley
Bank!
RULES: Just a few things we’d like you to remember about the race:
- You may choose someone to hold your child at the beginning of the race BUT there may only
be one parent on the mat (crawler only), in front of the child, during the race.
- Walker & Waddler's parents must urge their child on at the end of the mat.
- Crawlers and Waddlers race only one way on the mats.
- Toddler's must go to the end of the mats and then turn around and go the other way.
- Parents can bribe, cajole and try a variety of non-contact methods of enticing their young
ones down the race mat.
- Remember, no touching!
It is important to remind family members and friends to stay back from the mats in order for
everyone to be able to see the racers.
